I've only just got in from the weekend's event in Newbury. You see I got locked in the Corn Exchange with Bella Emberg after the caretaker locked up without checking if everyone had left I suppose it could have been worse, as her dressing room had a lovely carpet on the floor thanks to Cyril Lord, and Bella had a well stocked cupboard. We spent the night trying to remember the 103 things you could do with an Oxo cube, which Katie had talked about earlier in the evening, and sang Kaye Sisters songs to pass the time away. What happened to the others - I don't know ,although we found 2 empty gin bottles on the stairs, and a set of golf clubs which somebody left in reception, along with a street map of Sutton Coldfield...so I presume they had a good time. Did anyone record 'Snatch & grab it' by any chance?

So what are the 103 things you can do with an OXO cube?...pray tell...
Toots made a bee-line for Bella on arriving at The Corn Exchange, leaving Trek and I standing there like two wilting wallflowers in need of watering....(and that AINT easy to say without yer dentures in place...!)
So, we made the best of it, I downed a couple of bottles of Gay Gordons Gin and Trek hit a few Birdies.....
Anyway, she became rather over enthusiastic and belted a golfball right thru the Corn Exchange window... ...and its a 'listed building!....
Not sure what list, but by the looks of it, its atop of the list for demolition!...
Quite a hairy ride back up the M1...I hate tandems!

It seems a large portion of the audience were not concentrating when Katie gave her talk, which is a shame considering gravy is the 'in' thing for 2007. Personally I took it all in, and tonight I've tried number 77. What is the best thing to reduce swelling?

Well I've just recovered from the trip to Newbury. What a disaster that was. The food was awful and Toots disappeared as soon as Pen and I arrived. I accidently hit a ball through the window so had to stick a piece of cardboard over it.The cornflakes box looks very attractive and brightens up the front no end. We got cornered by Lenny the Lion for hours who went on and on about how he's making a comeback in The Lion King in Newbury Town Hall.
So its all systems go for Lapland now--we await further info ... Trek |

The Lapland trip will depart on December 20th from Ringway at 7am. We fly 'Nordickhead Air' (a subsidy of Nord Air). The cost is still £99.76 including free snow boots/nuts and Newberry Fruits. Please don't bring any cornflake packets as they are prone to freeze up. May I make a suggestion? Spend some time in Iceland to get used to the temperature..you will find it very useful in the long run.

I've just been shopping for our Lapland trip . Bought a pair of tennis raquets to strap on my feet. A all in one suit in yellow to keep out the cold. I'm just going to write my letter, to give to Santa. Oh and I bought some carrots for the reindeer--do reindeer like carrots?

I've contacted the Lapland Tourist Authority re your question Trek, and they tell me the reindeers WILL eat carrots providing they are not in tins. They do prefer brandy however. What is of more concern is your yellow outfit Mrs...do you realise you'll clash with the sun if it comes out? Reindeers are known to get confused by yellow, especially if names are written in the snow in this colour . Insurance don't cover any unwanted attention from old deers, so be warned. The cost has risen to £101.26 because of the fool surcharge - hope this is ok?

Well I'm sure that Reindeer prefer carrots to Sprouts, but then, don't we all?!..
...Also the mystery of Rudolphs red nose has 'emerged'he drinks far too much brandy!
Trekkers...A word to the wise, Give the yellow lycra, the elbow..
Yellow lycra would only look good on a stick insect OR Victoria Beckham...
I'm so looking forward to this trip, I've got my thermals packed, and my ear muffs on.
Bring on the Huskies!

Thermals are ok for 'normal' cold, but Lapland is a different kettle of fish......what you need is...'WHALE BLUBBER CREAM'. This cream should be applied continuious for 7 days before departure* *warn your husband/wife/partner as any unwanted attention could result in you catapulting through the bedroom window - if it's open Apply liberally each night and slide into bed trying to remain still - it will be worth the effort when you reach Lapland. The cream should be available in Tesco's (they have everything for Christmas) - look in 'seasonal goods', or from branches of 'Poundland' or 'Ann Summers'.

Just come back from Tesco's with a tub of Whale Blubber cream.
Its right slippery stuff--but as we shall be experiencing temps of-12 I am going to try the all over greasy look. I've decided to wrap myself in a poly bag tonight to prevent my being catapulted into the garden. Next doors fish from the pond have hidden under the water lilies--they can smell Whales.

As departure gets nearer, I hope your all applying the cream?
Further to previous announcements, the airline will give a 10% discount if you bring your own food. You seen their cooker is playing up - not Helga, but the propane gas one they have in the galley. By all accounts it's taking 5 hours to cook a fishcake properly, and you could starve waiting Personally I find radishes in sandwiches warm you up no end.

Well I'm aiming to stick a bottle o' brandy up my jumper... and hope that I don't get 'frisked' (Although that could be fun!)...
I know what I'll do. I shall carry a hot water bottle about my person, and if challenged I'll say that I suffer with hyperthermia..
But what they won't know, is.... My hot water bottle will be full of whisky and lemon, purely for medicinal purposes you understand?!......
I was under the impression that Trekkers was doing the catering?...
If not, I'll bring some red hot chilli peppers...

I'll bring food for all--hot sprout soup, variety of sandwiches with hot fillings-curry and chilli. We will need to be warm upon arrival.
By the way Toots I'm rubbing the blubber in every day.

Less than a week to go now kids....isn't it exciting? Nellie from our village has knitted me a lovely 'willy warmer' which I'm sure will be a boon when I get there, and hopefully it will s-t-r-e-t-c-h and fit properly by next week The tour company have sent the tickets, and I'll dish them out at the airport. I have been 'upgraded' to Club Class as I'm organising things - I hope you don't mind. I shall throw any salmon sandwiches I don't want down to you , so please bring a net to catch them in. Nordickhead Air employ only eskimo-types in the cabin, so don't been afraid or fooled by the hostess's - they are not 'hoodies', but really sweet girls with a slight 'fishy' smell, and will pander to your requirements with vigor. When we land there will be a reception committee awaiting us - please feel free to rub noses with anyone who takes your fancy. That's about it for now - keep lashing the cream on. TOOTLE |

Well, I was listening to the radio this morning AND believe it or not, the 'announced' that there is hardly ANY snow in Lapland this year!
Seems its down to the old Global Warming situation...
So bin the whale blubber, and get out the Sun Cream factor 15 and prepare to meet Santa in his cozzie and shades.....

I hope your all ready for tomorrow's excursion? There are a few last minute alterations :- Firstly = please bring goggles in case of a snowstorm on the tarmac, 'Bonio' for the husky's and a tape of Chuck Berry. The weather in Lapland has turned cold with lots of snow, but the weather in Manchester is miserable with fog (don't take pictures!) Once we get away it will be 'plain sailing' or 'plane sailing' to be PC. We arrive at 10.30am, and after rubbing a few noses we will be treated to a bacon sarnie and a cup of hot chocolate before we join our sleigh for the trip to the grotto (Please don't confuse this with a trip on Virgin trains between Piccadilly and Bolton) When you sit on Santa's lap, please remember what your mother told you, and you are a lady (or gent in some cases). Only ask for a maximum of 5 gifts otherwise Santa will think your a greedy bugger.
