Jenny, you'll be pleased to know that Smooth Radio does play Dusty quite frequently - just depends on when you tune in to catch any of her songs! . I listen to 105.7fm which is the West Midlands version, and I can get 102.2fm which is the London version through my Freeview. These two are pretty good at playing not just Dusty, but The Springfields too! .
Anyhoo, the other night whilst flicking through frequencies on my mobile, I came across a station playing IOWTBWY. Not sure which station it was, but the DJ then went on to chat to Sue Pollard about the musical 'Shout'. Afterwards he played another Dusty tune, ICMEACTT!

Tracks of my years on Ken Bruce show...Diane Warren played YDHTSYLM. She said that Dusty was her fav female singer and that when she wanted Dusty to record 1 of her songs they spoke on the telephone and she was completely star struck...not something that usually happened to her.

SOAPM was played again yesterday on Heart FM- bless 'em I think I'm gonna have to give them some more Dusty tracks to play, they like SOAPM rather a lot (and I do too ) but it would be nice if they could play some others.

Talking of Michael Ball... is he still married to Cathy McGowan ex RSG Presenter?
Cathy Mc Gowan must've known Dusty pretty well.

Ahem, as far as I know they never married !!!
Cathy must have tights older than Michael (copped that saying from Cilla Black) as she once said it to someone on her show that she had tights older than him! |

No, I haven't Sara... But I wouldn't mind reading it.
He wrote the foreword to 'The Complete Dusty Springfield' too.
I remember seeing a programme about Dale and they were in his house.
I noticed a book about Dusty on the coffee table.
I have never seen that book cover anywhere else.
I like Dale... He's a terrific chap.

Well it seems to me this fella (Dale Winton) needs a spot at DD 2009! Or at least a ticket!

SOAPM played this afternoon by Johnnie Walker on Radio 2, as part of a tribute to the great Jerry Wexler - 'three of his greatest productions' - the other 2 were 'In the midnight hour' by Wilson Pickett and 'Respect' by Aretha.
