I LOVE that record Brian..
I especially love the start where it sounds like they've put everything but the kitchen sink into the intro'...A tiny bit like Phil Spector did, with his 'Wall Of Sound'...

Mark Lamar and El Tel . Men of SERIOUSLY good taste.
Heard Terry W and especially stood still to listen to Dusty's voice .

Just listened to Dusty singing "Don't let me lose this dream"... take it as an intentional Song sighting. I just wanted to watch this beautiful BBC DVD again!

A non-Dusty friend said she'd heard her music on a BBC Radio 4 play a few days(?) ago.

| Brian Matthew played I'll Try Anything on SOTS today and told the story about Dusty going to NY for the day to record her vocals. |

Going to New York and back in 1 day was quite a trek in those days too--the woman had stamina!

I presume some of us may have seen "Dancing on Ice" tonight which had a 1960s theme? "Son of a Preacher Man" was among the songs used, successfully, I might add. It seems that everything Dusty turns to gold on TV at the moment - just as it should be! |

I put this prog on realising it was the 60's tonight as I don't normally watch it.
Some good music to skate to especially Preacherman--Dusty is on a roll

I don't normally watch it but was at my bro's and they all watch it so...
It was used by Linda Lusardi on her little outing onto the ice and at the end everyone agreed she had improved since the previous week... I said "Nah it wasn't her... it was the wonderful music that did that!" - I got a cushion thrown at me for that one!!!

Johnnie Walker sitting in for Terry Wogan mentioned Katy this morning in glowing terms, and then went on to play YDHTSYLM by Dusty calling it 'almost perfection' ! almost??

'So much love' played by Johnnie Walker on Radio 2 this morning "Lovely song sung by Dusty Springfield" he added. It got me thinking - how often do you HEAR album tracks from Cilla, Sandie, Lulu etc?....Dusty's are played quite often.

It's not to say that the above made bad albums as that is not true, Sandie sings the most beautiful version of The Bee Gees "Words" I ever heard.
I also heard Dusty this morning, it's great to hear something different! |

Nice to hear a Dusty Song not played very often on radio - but Dave Lee Travis played ALL CRIED OUT on his Classic Gold weekend show.
Cheers Chris |

Nice to know that DLT is still in the land of the living!... He used to 'haunt' the clubs and discos in Manchester, way back when...
I'm sure that I had 'All Cried Out' on a Dusty EP back in the day,When they made EPs...
Great song.
