Ive just checked it again as I had it recorded and it was just the tiniest bit of 24 Hours played very quietly (I stopped to rest for the night and saw a welcoming light) just as the spaceship was circling overhead!!

He is so annoying ---the other thing about him when he is talking, he never actually says who is singing the song

The annoying this about dj's is that they usually tell you who is singing when it is so obvious (i.e. someone like Dusty, Bassey, Ton Jones etc) but if it's someone you're not sure of and really like the song they NEVER say who it is!!!!! |

In Pizza Hut yesterday - sat reading menu when Dusty's SPOOKY came on - started clicking my fingers to it. It was followed by the superb INNER CITY BLUES - by Marvin Gaye. Then a load of dross came on !!
Worth it just for Dusty and Marvin.
Cheers Chris |

Terry Wogan went way back this morning with 'Island of dreams' by The Springfields, adding 'AGHH - TERRIFIC, DUSTY & THE SPRINGFIELDS'

Browsing in Woolworths today and on came our girl with Son Of A Preacher Man - always gives me such a kick to hear Dusty when it's unexpected.
I too heard Terry Wogan playing Island Of Dreams this morning, he's a fan anyway as Dusty was on his tv show and performed Sometimes Like Butterflies,Terry also interviewed Dusty and they had quite a laugh together. |

Love the intro to Nothing Has Been Proved.
and of course the rest...visited Clivedon on the way home from London where Christine Keeler first met John Profumo. The house is a hotel now but you can walk around the grounds.

Tonight on BBC Radio Oxford the first of a 4-part programme is being aired. The theme of the programme is 'the music scene in Oxford during the sixties'. They are talking to people who were there - members of local groups, the general public, promoters etc. One of the contributors was Mike Hurst (ex-Springfields) who talked about 'the scene' and Dusty, remembering playing with the Springfields in Oxford, Banbury , Bicester and the air base at Brize Norton. They played 'Island of dreams' as the interview progressed. If anyone is interested The Springfields played BANBURY WINTER GARDENS on 31st May 1963 - and it cost 7/6d to get in! It was a very fascinating hour.

Yet another song sighting: 'I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten' has just been featured on This Morning, in the background on a HollyOaks clip-with John Barrowman acknowledging Dusty!

Mark Ratcliffe played Look Of Love yesterday, as he was sitting in for Mr Wright..and he played it all without talking over the beginning or the end
Lisa Tarbuck was his side kick and they both said what a wounderful voice Dusty had. Expressing concern about the choice of Nicole Kidman to possibly play Dusty..asking whether Nicole could sing or sound anything like the real thing!
