Did Dusty ever receive gold records for sales?
I remember seeing a feature where she was presented with a silver disc (which I'm sure was for 250,000 records sold in those days), but never for a gold disc. Can someone prove me wrong?

Brian.

Brian if you click on this Site, it shows all the 'Discs' that Dusty was awarded.

I know that these are copies, but presumably the fact that Dusty was awarded them is true.

Its interesting anyway...

Carole I doubt these discs were actually awarded to Dusty and are as you say purely copies to sell to fans & collectors.

I am sure Dusty would have been given a gold disc for her number one hit and of course we know she got a platimum disc due to the success of Son Of A Preacher Man as featured in Pulp Fiction.

I'm sure "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself" was awarded a disc for sales...but I don't know if it was gold or silver....I could be wrong.

I remember hearing a radio interview with Dusty where she said that the Platinum Disc for "Son Of A Preacher-Man" as part of the "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack arrived at her house and she said she thought it was something she had ordered from the "Laura Ashley" catalogue...it's very funny when you hear her talk about it
