Strawberry Fields Forever

Well, he walked up to me
and he asked me if I wanted to dance.
He looked kinda nice
and so I said I might take a chance.

Hey you jumped the gun, nobody guessed MY song which was Home Thoughts From Abroad by Clifford T Ward, define popular? Just because you don't know it doesn't mean it isn't popular ya know!!!!

Terry Wogan plays it from time to time and Jack Jones recorded it on an album, it would have been a great song for Dusty!

Private Dancer - Tina Turner

My reply to this and your previous dig is don't start play the game, no-one knew your tune, even vaguely, not even google

Man On The Moon

They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records,
all blues, rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the volume went down as well...

Just to call 'time' on this little spat.

I think if two or more days have passed by, without another clue being offered..we just have to start on a new lyric, otherwise the thread goes stagnant.

I hope everyone understands, and gets on with the game, this is a forum for fun, after all.

Ruth I don't even know you so please do not get on your high horse.
Just because people don't know a song does not mean it isn't popular, the song I questioned is one I do not know and I listen to a LOT of music.
Nobody on THIS site knew the Clifford T Webb song, the man has written songs for Cliff Richard incase you didn't know.
There's enough damn trouble in the world without getting your what's it's in a twist over a song!

With all due respect, I'm requesting an immdediate stop to this.

Thankyou.

These are Ruth's lyrics.

Please can we just give the song title to the lyrics and not start being critical of artists on this thread---which is a game forum

Thank you

Emmylou Harris (orig. Chuck Berry)

Does it feel that your life's become a catastrophe?
Oh it has to be for you to grow boy.
When you look through the years & see what you could have been
Oh what might have been if you'd had more time.

Hey - any excuse to use that image!

BTW the song I quoted was a Top 10 hit in North America - & its parent album is a worldwide classic!

So you think you can love me and leave me to die
