Wow - no takers on You Were On My Mind? The US hit version by We Five gets played to death on Canadian oldies stations because it was written by Sylvia Fricker of Ian & Sylvia. I understand a lot perhaps most of this board's membership won't have heard the We Five version but a cover by Crispian St Peters got to no#2 UK - three notches highter than the follow-up Pied Piper. Anyway let's try:
I don't need your sympathy - There's nothing you can say or do for me And I don't want a miracle - You'll never change for no one
Wrapped in her arms I see you across the street & I can't help but wonder if she knows what's going on You talk of love but you don't know how it feels when you realise that you're not the only one
You've been mixing with some very heavy faces The boys have done a bit of bird They don't kill their own And they all love their mothers But you're out of your depth son have a word
