Thank you for showing and explaining that new compilation. It looks very nice.
The CDs called "Gold" are very nice and have a good quality. I know them from the Motown stars like The Supremes. Their compilation is excellent, too.

Wayne has given us no indication as to why the release of "Gold" has been postponed several times, there has to be a reason!
As I've said before Dusty's tracks have been re-mastered and released in various compilations recently so surely little work should be required in compiling a cd and getting it released! |

I'm afraid it simply came down to a scheduling issue. I haven't been fully informed of the reasons but it's just one of those things that record companies do. Frustrating!

| Yes Perhaps Wayne but it's something Universal have done for years, especially when it comes to Dusty releases or perhaps we notice it more with her as we are always keen to see a new release! |

Wayne, you said that the compilation didn't turn out the way you envisaged it originally...what were your plans for it originally?
And, because I'm a Mono-Nerd; are the versions of "Little By Little" & "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face" the original mono mixes? I'm sure I read somewhere that the mono mix of "Little by Little" that has been released recently is a recent mono dub of the stereo mix (without the backing vocals that are on the original '45). Plus I thought the original mono masters for the tracks from "Where Am I Going" couldn't be located???

The versions of Little By Little and I Can't Wait are the same master used for Classics and Collectibles. There are indeed some problems with some of the original master tapes although I don't have a huge amount of info on that. What I can tell you is that If You Go Away was taken form the Master of the EP and that Guess Who and Live It Up were taken from the Mono masters of the American album.
Originally the collection featured stuff from Cameo, It Begins Again and White Heat but there were licensing problems. Nonetheless, I am very happy with this one!

Yes Wayne I heard about the problems from another source.
As It Begins Again, Living Without Your Love & White Heat have all been released on cd in fairly recent years just what is the current problem? I did hear that Universal state they no longer have the rights to them. I did not hear the same about Cameo however! |

They didn't give me details I'm afraid. All I can say is that may of the tracks form 1973 onwards did not clear. They are quite tight-lipped about it.

Reputation beat me to the punch. Yet again Gold has been delayed. The new date is April 7. That's a week on Monday so at least the new dates are getting closer! I spoke to my guy at Universal today and he told me that there were some last minute changes to the artwork and the CD will definitely be out on the 7th. He seems confident about that. I know, don't say a word! :)
