Please use this thread to note down what you are spotting as an off shoot of Katy's success on The One and Only.
I've got to shoot off to the station now but I understand for e.g. that on various charts Dusty is well and truly at the top.
Get digging for snippets folks!

my two nieces stayed at the weekend, they played just about every Dusty Cd i have, watched every youtube video, perused thru the Dusty forum, drove me mad at thier renditions of thier favourite tracks- i took them shopping and they searched the shops for dusty CD's to take home- we didnt find any in the big shops-sainsburies and woollies (we havent a hmv or record shop in town)- i had the idea of looking in the charity shops - success! we found the sunday express best of dusty -two copies no less, one each for the girls!! and a people get ready DVD- so in the afternoon we had more dusty tunes and doing some dusty dancing whilst making marmalade!!they particularly like 'son of a preacher man'! thankfully they did keep quiet during Katy's performances on the one and only. and after topping up thier credit on the mobiles, repeatedly voted for Katy!!(they didnt like robbie) Katy is 'cool'--- i just hope they are driving thier mum and dad mad now!
so the conclusion of this in answer to Janie's post-- no Dusty albums for sale in the big shops so they must be selling Kids are listening to great music instead of the trash in the charts Katy is 'cool' |

Well I don't need much encouragement to listen to Dusty but today I played the old American album OoooooWeeee!!! the cd version, it was great hearing the oldies again like He's Got Something, Now That You're My Baby, I'll Love You For Awhile & When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes.
Sadly I had to switch Dusty off before she was finished as I had to go to work! |

spotted in the daily Star today (yeah i know, well someone has to read it) "that HMV has had a steady increase in Dusty sales prior to the weekend with a huge spike in sales over the weekend" ---- they are putting the sales increase down to 'the one and only' and katy's success! |

Was out today doing a bit of shopping and went into a local independent record store where a couple of weeks ago I saw an LP version of 'Living Without Your Love' for £15. I was pondering whether to buy it but thought the price was a wee bit too high - today it was still there but it is now £25 ... wonder if they're trying to 'cash in' on Dusty since Katy arrived on the scene?!?!?!!!!

i collect a bit of pop memoribilia and the thought went thru my mind that the odd bit of Dusty memoribilia that turns up from time to time would increase in value and price- looks as tho my assumption was correct Sparkie

Hi, Bev It's been a while since you posted this message. If you still don't have this album.... I've got a spare copy and it's yours for free if you want it. Just email me!

I've noticed that Dusty's 'I Only Want To Be With You' has become a backing track to a recently new (I think?)holiday advert- I think it's one advertising cruises, although I'm not entirely sure.
So keep an eye out on ITV folks! |

Well observed Carole!
No doubt that some of Dusty's tracks may even make it into some of the soaps soon! |

You often hear Dusty tracks on Emmerdale...'Diane' is a fan.
...and Eastenders love her....You often hear her in the Laundrette or the Vic...
Corrie?....Occasionally.... But they seem to prefer Amy Winehouse.

I really must observe more! Have they been aired recently? I'm afraid I don't watch Emmerdale, but I like watching Eastenders and Corrie- you have just reminded me of the 'Mother's Pride' advert that Dusty did back in the 60s! hehe she looked a bit like a young Barbara Windsor when she did the Carry On films. |
