I found a site on the net where all the artist from 1920 to today (2000) where listed after there chart entry in all the big country in the world the "hit list" from 1920 to 1945 is only from USA and the list from UK (1947 to 1952) is a sheet list. they list the most 1000 successful artist by the pos. on the div.list and that is not the same as how many millions a record sold but how popular an artist was in the world.
AND how hig does DUSTY came on that list ?
ofcause elvis. beatles. rolling stones.michael jackson. big crosby. 0.s.w
was 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. ...
but DUSTY ended up as # 242. and is that good ? YES when you see the 758 other who is behind her.
Her "best" record is Son of a preacher man that reach # 10 in US. # 9 in UK. # 2 in canada. # 5 in australia. # 9 in france. # 6 in holland. # 3 in switzerland. and so on on in other part of the world.

there is some misunderstanding in my mind about YDHTSYLE that it only get to # 2 in UK 1966 but i can see that there is a diff. betwen New Musical Express / Record Mirror / Dics / Melody Maker. about that record reach # 1 ?
I can remember that in Radio Luxembourg it reach # 1

I hope that can read my english i know it is not THAT good
but then YOU try to whrite danish with Ø. Å. Æ. yes that is just
some of ours vocals !!!!

yes i have found it again (www.tsort.info/music) it's look like it is been updated again. so Dusty have drop down the list to # 272 in the top 1000 but they have change YDHTSYLM to a 1 place in UK
so it looks like it's sometime help to write to a www. adr.
