Looking forward to Katy's two new record releases.

When I spoke with Katy in Vegas, she told me she is coming out with two albums, one was as Dusty Springfield and the other as Katy as herself. With the combination of tracks posted on the link, I wonder if this still holds true.

Marty the two 'Dusty' tracks were added today- so they will be on the NEW "Katy sings Dusty Springfield" album
the other tracks have been on her media player for a while now- i dont know if she will include those on her "katy sings katy album" or she will record some totally new material for it
just to clarify that ,yes she is planning on releasing two albums- the dusty album will be released this week ready for her tour

Just after six last night i switched on Smooth Radio on my DAB and
Katy was on. She was interviewed about her tour,Dusty,Vegas and in between played some of her favourite songs. These included Kate Bush,
Beach Boys and Lou Reed. We also heard her new album track of I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU (Super version).
Katy was great - bubbly amusing - so enthusiastic about the tour and her album. Oh and Blue was mentioned !
In between the songs and adverts it was difficult for both Katy and
the interviewer to develop the conversation sometimes - but it awas great to hear her.

Thanks for this latest news on Katy, Emma and Chris.
Emma, someone I know went to The Mathews Street Festival, even though its called that, many of the acts are dotted all about the city of Liverpool.However, cos the weekend is mainly dedicated to the Beatles, Mersey Sound etc, and cos The Cavern Club is on Mathew St. They call it The Mathew Street Festival.
I believe that Katy was on The Diva Stage, situated on Water Street.
It all looks abit blowy, so I guess it was nearer to the Docks area.
The Girl who was the Cher Tribute on The One and Only was also there.She's expecting a baby, now.
From the vid you've posted, it looks like Katy received rapturous and enthusiastic applause, which all bodes good for the tour.
..and thanks Chris for the radio news.
Katy does have a very engaging personality... no airs and graces.
In fact, most 'un-diva-like.'...
I guess she'll be appearing on local radio stations next.
Lets hope there are 'House full' signs everwhere she goes.

The clips of Katy came on by themselves after I clicked on the link.
I must say ICMEACTT is most impressive with a good strong production, the next song was Red Red Wine. I also checked out the visual clip lots of blonde hairstyles passing by the camera!!! However, I have to say when Dusty did all those hand movements they always looked so natural, with others it looks mechanical.
However I will certainly be buying Katy's cd.

Looks like Katy's 'real' hair to me...
Maybe the wigs are being dry cleaned in readiness for the Tour.

Katy is sounding great, as usual. Only one observation: Katy is singing "BUH-lieve me" rather than the Dusty-like "BEE-lieve me" ~~~ or is it just me hearing this?

Well she better get it right! It annoys me when they do that.
However I must say the clip I heard of ICMEACTT her phrasing was spot on. |

True, true. Though Katy's "Dusty" is by her own admission a bit of Dusty indeed and a bit of Katy. At least I think she said that! |

Doing some shopping this morning when I spotted a large (and I mean large) poster of our Katy, ready for the concert. I think they've only just put it up round by me, 'cos I've only just seen it today. I'm hoping to get a head start on getting my tickets, as I've known for ages (like many of you) when the dates are, but they hadn't yet gone on sale - so, 26th Sept here I come! . Gonna try and get as close to the front(if not the front row itself) so I can let Katy know where I am .
....very excited!!!

Emma...I'm glad you got your tickets.
Row B as well, Can't be bad...
Re the Liverpool/Katy vid... I found Katys attempt at Dusty 'actions' rather exagerated, and hope that she doesn't overdo them, cos, if she does, it could look like she's taking the mick.. its a very fine line, she has to balance.
As for the Valerie 'thing' well, its a great song, but trying to 'do' Amy, dressed up as Dusty?...seemed abit surreal to me.

Although these Utube clips at Matthew Street are very enjoyable, it is not Katy at her best either. I don't want to say anything negative because I think she is wonderful. Her hand movements, phrasing and voice were 100 percent spot on the night I saw her in Vegas. There truly was "Dusty Magic" in the air that night at the IP. I so wish her performances were recorded at the Legends Concert.
