My all time favourite piece is the Mozart opera Idomeneo (truly magnificent choral pieces and containing one of the best quartets for voices ever written PLUS two electrifying soprano arias for the part of Electra the second of which she has to sing about five high D's).
The second is Mozart's Requiem - agin containing stunningly beautiful and moving music.
The third is another pre Du Ponte opera (all of which are of course great pieces): The Seraglio.
But Mozart wrote so many great works for voices and Piano and wind in particular, it is tough to choose and for anyone not yet having tried - a great voyage of discovery.
I also have eclectic musical taste and like many Classical pieces.
Mozart is also a favourite of mine along with Verdi & Vivaldi, I have many Classical records which I must admit I haven't listened to for awhile.
I also like several Classical singers such as Placido Domingo,Jose Carreras, Fritz Wunderlich and more recently Alfie Boe. Also in my collection I have Roberto Alagna, Juan Diego Florez, Jose Bjorling. Alfredo Kraus & Franco Corelli.
I've never really been a fan of Soprano's as I find them too screechy but some of othem are alright in small doses.
I like to listen to classical music, just as long as its not Opera or any of the highbrow stuff. Easy listening stuff for me. Usually listen to classic FM on the car radio, when i want a change from Dusty.
Bolero has to be one of my favourites.
Just listen to and watch this video. Absolutely stunning

I agree that alot of 19th century opera is high brow (especially Italien composers) but Mozart is different. Trust me. Something like Idomeneo takes a few listenings but if you try something like the Magic Flute it is more of a songspiel but great music.
