If you had to nominate 1 year only where you thought Dusty was at her peak vocally and Visually (ie your favourite "look" or hairstyle etc) which year would you choose?

For me I would go with 1966 (65 is close second for her look and 68 is probably her vocal peak for me but 66 is a great combo).

Late 60s vocally, I dunno, that's a difficult one!
Hmm...

I'm gonna go with 1964, but all of the 60s.

I'd say 1965/66 was Dusty at her best both vocally and visually.. You only have to look at the NME Youtubes to see that.

Other than that, I liked her natural 'look' on the 1979 RAH Show..

Her voice wasn't as good as the in the Sixties though.

I think I'd have to go with 65/66 as well...although 1983 was a good year with 'White Heat'!

I would probably agree with 65/66 too. But I also think vocally she was pretty good around the time of Cameo.

1966 for live performance.

Early 1970s for recorded performances.

66/67 I link the album Where Am I Going with this because I think it shows Dusty at the top of her career, including the TV shows and her number 1.

I'd say '67/'68.

I think that through the years from 1966 to 1973, Dusty was pretty much on top vocal form and apart from a couple of questionable sartorial hiccups, she looked really looked great too.

Hello,

I'm new here. For me it's got to be 1969 and 'Memphis' because everything great about Dusty came together there. But really there's no peak year for me. Dusty's voice matured like the best wine and though she lost her fantastic range towards the end of her recording life her superb interpretive qualities remained. Up until and including 'It Begins Again' she was at her technical vocal peak but her 'Memphis' performances are the most astonishing . For looks, well, I just love Dusty and it doesn't matter to me what she looked like; I guess the covers of the USA 'Memphis' and the UK 'Dusty Definitely' albums are my favourite looks. But if she could come around for tea and a chat a comfortable track suit or anything else she wanted to wear would be OK by me!

This is a nice place. Glad to be here.

Ever since we met you've had a hold on me. It's crazy but it's true...
