I am wondering if anyone is willing to share their emotions and feelings when they are by Dusty's stone in Henley?
I've been there twice now. Each time I fought tears. It probably was a bit worse the first time as I was alone. I just become completely and emotionally overwhelmed when I am there. Does anyone else have these feelings?
This past visit my friend Michael was literally pulling me away from the the marker and church. We just made the train back to London by seconds.
As I was walking to the train, I wondered when will be my next visit and how much easier it is for Michael if he desires to do so.

One of my good friends lives in Henley. We had one trip to the remembrance stone. I wouldn't have asked but my friend took me there. I guess that's what good friends are for.
I was just quiet. All I said with my heart was ' Thank you, Dusty. Godspeed.' I couldn't spend much time there; there's not really enough private space at the stone for reflection. My eyes were welling so I cut it short. I was glad to be able to say good-bye and I'm glad that someone was thoughtful enough to lay that simple dignified stone.

Sad, but privileged to be there.
Grateful that the mysterious 'Estate' realised that Fans needed a Meeting point and a place to remember Dusty.
I try to visit at least once a year.

i pass thru Henley regularly and always give Dusty a wave as i pass- when i have Time i place some flowers ( generally just a single red rose) and sit on the bench in front of the church and watch the world go by, keeping Dusty company- its very tranquil

After visiting on four occasions, Henley feels very familiar and comfortable to me.
I first visited Dusty's resting spot in April of 2004. As I walked down Hart Street toward the churchyard, I couldn't believe I was actually there. I wasn't sure just what my feelings would be when I got to the churchyard. For some reason, when I arrived at Dusty's marker I was moved to say aloud, "Okay, you got me here. What's next?" Oy, did I find out!!
Because of situations I've found myself in and some of the people I've come to know since then, I believe she's been answering that question ever since. So during every visit, I have a private (one-way) chat with her, letting her know what's been happening since our last visit (although I think she knows all that already). And then I ask again, "So..what's next?"

When I first visited Dustys marker 3 years ago I was a bit apprehensive.I thought I would be a bit emotional on seeing her resting place but I wasn't.I started reading the cards and tributes people had left and that started the tears.!! I had to sit in the church for a few minutes to regain my composure.Since then I always feel at peace whenever I've visited her.

I always find it peaceful and calming visiting Dusty. On my first visit I did wonder if I would get emotional but I just felt so sad that this wonderful lady with that amazing voice who put so much emotion and feeling into her music was no longer here and would never sing for us again. But then as I sat looking at the stone I realised that she does sing for us every single day of our lives... every time we put on a CD, tape, DVD, vinyl LP or 45 there she is giving it her all for her fans as she always did and always will.
Because I am only an hour away and am able to visit so often it now feels like I'm meeting up with an old friend and I have a chat and, like T, fill her in on all the goings on since my last visit etc. and I don't know why but yesterday when I left I actually said "See you next time Dust, don't go anywhere" - as if she would be!
