I also love this song. I think it's very underrated and it tends to be lost in the shuffle to IOWTBWY (under great song, btw).

I must admit that when Stay Awhile was first released as a follow up to IOWTBWY I was a little disappointed way back in '64.
But over the years its grown on me.

I love 'Stay Awhile', it has a very Phil Spectory sound
I think Dusty got sick of singing it over the years though! This one's not a 'grower' to me, it's one of those that I loved immediately but I can go off it a bit if it's played too much.

I'm sure that I read that this song was Dusty's attempt at re-creating 'The Wall Of Sound'...
So,yea, Sara, It is abit 'Phil Spectory'

Dusty kids us into thinkin' she's gonna join the 'Dancers On Speed.'
Have you noticed how she sidles onto the top stage towards the end?
Her outfit was quite Mod at the time, but now it looks more like an outfit for a 'day at the office' doesn't it?
