Apologies before I start this, but I was wondering if there are any songs that you just cannot stand to hear?

Any songs that really niggle and annoy you.

Well if there are...and your limited to a Top Five, this is the place to tell us.

Brian "Angels" is a beautiful song especially when Gene Pitney sings it as he did in his stage act.

I find it depressing in the extreme. Music played at funerals for people with no musical taste...watch for the backlash!

That 'Scouting for girls' song they keep playing on the radio... Pisses me off!
Lots of songs from between 1992 and 1995 cos they were bad years for me and remind me of how I felt

Ooh.. that 'Running Up That Hill' song by Kate Bush, cos it scares me

I should divide this up into:

'Songs I hate cos they're annoying',

'Songs that remind me of feeling like sh*t and make me feel like sh*t again'

and

'Songs that are just scary'

In The Summertime - Mungo Jerry
The Pushbike Song - The Mixtures
Fire - Crazy World Of Arthur Brown
On The Road Again - Canned Heat

Plus an Aretha Franklin cd of two old albums I recently bought, I like some of Aretha's material but she's just wailing and screaming on this!!!!

I know we are all entitled to our opinions but Brian I really have to disagree strongly with you here.

Firstly I have excellent musical taste and always have had,

Secondly lots of music is played at funerals and again it is up to the individual taste.

Thirdly Angels I think is a thrilling song I liked it from the first time I heard it by Robbie, I think Dusty really could have gone to town on this one!

On closing when it's my time to go I want them to play the song from Dreamgirls:-
"And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going"!!!

Reading these lists brings back memories of my finely honed music sensibilities being insulted especially on holiday ..to the wrong places! The memories I've tried to block out come back to me. Agadoo, the Birdie song and all those stupid Euro songs that enable everyone to join in and dance...badly. All of those false emotion power ballads. All of those bombastic rock anthems. I guess that takes me over 5...
