I know that Michael Ball is not well known in the US, so I would like to make him better known to my US friends. I was fortunate enough to see him in person twice, once at a concert in Blackpool and once as Edna in the musical Hairspray. He is a real nice guy and goes out of his way to meet all of his fans after a performance. I don't think I'll ever get over having my picture stolen that I had taken with him at the stage door after seeing Hairspray. He also is a huge Dusty Springfield fan. This was my first introduction to Michael Ball and I've been a huge fan ever since.

I know I have often mentioned that I much prefer Dusty's version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough with Michael Ball vs Englebert Humperdinck.

This link was taken from a Christmas Eve TV Special and sadly one of her very last TV performances.

It first starts with Roll Away and than goes into Ain't No Mountain High Enough.

I have to say I much prefer her version with Engelbert, but perhaps I am partial to her style at that time and I also adore Engelbert *hehe*

I much prefer the version with Michael Ball, I quite like Engelbert's voice but he looked so creepy with those sideboards.
