Little has been said over the years of Dusty's charity Christmas single, I just wondered if people like it.
It's not a song I am mad on, but because it's Dusty!!! If it had been recorded by anyone else I would not have bought the record.

Eeeek, Alice, we can't have that! http://www.sendspace.com/file/xaw0ch
Be sure to let us know if you need the rest of the Christmas repertoire as well, you hear!

Frans! I freaking LOVE you! Thanks...it's downloading as I type! I haven't heard any of the others before actually, don't know all that much about the Springfields really...but thanks for that!
And by the way, the other albums you sent me were BRILLIANT as well! Thanks!

Alice I am most surprised you don't know that much about The Springfields, that was what got me hooked on Dusty's voice - you really should checkout the double cd with most of their recordings included. It was released by Philips but then re-released by RPM about 2 years ago. The tracks are the same but the title and sleeve are different from the original Philips release.
America also released a Springfields cd years ago on the Taragon label.

Have always loved it and loved the picture cover when I first purchased it. Could never understand why it was not the official follow up to Losing You, maybe if it was marketed differently it would have been a big hit

Each Christmas season when I get my Christmas CDs out, I always wish that Dusty would have done a solo Christmas CD. I think her Springfield Christmas album is OK, but nothing outstanding.

The Springfields Xmas EP was never released commercially it was available through a magazine Woman's Own, I remember they also did one on Frankie Vaughan and possibly others.
I love the Springfields Xmas and my Xmas isn't complete until I play it, if I play no other Xmas record I have to play that and Jack Jones singing O Holy Night! Oh and Madeline's Joy To The World (love her little rap bit)! |
