Gill, that song has some very somber & bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) feelings attatched to for me. Not that I don't love that song it's very beautiful, it's just still hard to listen to even after 2 years have passed.

Anyway, my songs for today are from the movie Across The Universe.

Here's She's So Heavy/I Want You by Joe Anderson & Dana Fuchs

And Something by Jim Sturgess

I couldn't agree more Gill. Whenever I hear a certain, significant song the memories just flood my mind! I can remember who was with me, where we were, what we were wearing, how every single thing looked, how I felt at the time, hell, I can even remember (sometimes) what perfume I'd been wearing!

That's another reason music is so important to me, so many songs have made up a literal soundtrack of my life. Hey, that'd be a good a idea for a thread maybe? What would be the sound track of your life?

Oh, I cannot believe you posted MMMMBop Emma! Lol, my sister drove me insane with Hanson!

Oh, I know the smell of a certain, specific scent can send you through a time warp! My Eternity perfume always makes me think of this Halloween party I went to when I was 13 at my cousin's house. I had such a great time at that party! My mama was there with me, of course, but I still managed to get lit up like a Christmas tree (of course!).

Ok, my choices for today are some songs I especially want my Emma-nemma to listen to!

Reba McEntire "Fancy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv7vHELUD4g

Reba McEntire "Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMcBAeAKMk0

Frankie J. ft. Baby Bash "Obsession" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G5Ugxlp7KM

Baby Bash "Suga Suga" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMYsIjIs0qM

Now Emma, the last two songs are kind of R&B/Hip Hop, but give them a chance. I know how everyone on the site feels about rap or hip/hop & I mostly feel the same way. Still, there are quite a few of those kind of songs that I do like....alot. I'm pretty sure you'll like them once you start listening to them. Hey, have I ever steered you wrong when it comes to music so far? I know you trust me when it comes to stuff like this, so please listen to them, k? Do it for me, yeah?

Now the first two songs are by my second all time favorite country singer, Reba McEntire. This is what I was listening to when I was 8,9,10 years old. Reba was my first musical hero. Anyway, the two songs I've chosen actually tell some rather interesting stories. I know you love a song with a story behind it.

Just trust me sweet-pea, you'll love them all.....XOXO

Was expecting something more "offensive".She sings the title in a "prim and proper" voice, but guess that's deliberate.
Had not heard of this group before.

Didn't really get into this one at first, but I got there in the end!

Eurythmics- Miracle Of Love

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt5nLKhWD78

...just something about that melody and lyrics, IMHO Dusty could have done this too.
