ICMEACTT on SOTS this morning. Brian related the story of her using a hand mike and finishing the vocals in the corridor to the applause of the cleaners

That is always a great story to hear, aint it?
I always get a really plain mental picture of this whole event.
But, maybe I'm just mental...

At work, my boss's wife recently changed our satellite music system from the 60 "Oldies" station to a "Love Song" station. Yesterday, I heard Dusty singing "I Just Fall In Love Again" - nice surprise!

Yes, I heard one yesterday...but now I forget which one it was. While I was assisting a customer, I heard Karen's unmistakeable voice.

I've also heard Dusty on different satelite stations. Not too long ago I heard "Wishin' and Hopin'" on the easy listening station. She's also been on the Love Song station. I have my radio pre-set to scan for my favourite recording artists and it alerts me when one of my choices is being broadcast, regardless of the channel.

I agree. It can't be that hard to tell them, 'excuse me but I have to ignore you right now, there's some great music on the radio. You're just going to have to wait your turn'.

A satelite radio has a couple hundred channels (there must be technical reason why they're not called stations like a regular radio). It broadcasts digitally through satelite, so anywhere I am in North America I can get the same stations. Even better, they're commercial-free, except for the channels that broadcast the audio from television stations. Because there's such diversity, you can pinpoint the exact kind of music or talk that you want to hear. They even have an all-Elvis station LOL. It notifies me of my selected artists by beeping, and then the artist/title comes up on the screen along with the station I should select.
I think Tere has a a subscription to a different satelite radio company (mine is through Serius) so we don't get the same channels, though the concept is the same.
It costs $10/month to subscribe to satelite radio. And so worth it, there are no commercials.

Today at work, we heard "The Look of Love" followed by "A Song for You" by the Carpenters on the Love Songs station.
