Thanks for those first two links Rob.. Good songs and both of them sang well.
The Tom Springfield penned and produced 'I'll Never Find Another You' is yet another fine example of the musically gifted O' Brien family. Carole xxx |

I always loved the Seekers song Morningtown ride as it was on a Children's Favourites LP I had as a child, but I'd not heard any of their other stuff, so thanks for posting these links Rob - very good. |

I really like the seekers too, probably because of their 'Springfield' sound.

Thanks for those links Rob, I really liked the footage from the 59th Bridge Street song.
I'm a Seekers fan and particulary a fan of Judith Durham. She's a talented songwriter as well as pianist and singer. And also, she just comes across as a nice person. Her voice is so interesting, I wonder if she'd have been born 20-30 years later what kind of genre she'd end up singing, because her vocals are nothing like anyone else today.
I wonder if Tom Springfield realized at the time what kind of talent was in his circle.

I have a feeling that breaking up the Springfields led to a life long rift between Dusty and Tom - he lost his star.
The Seekers was the replacement. As good as Judith Durham is, she's no Dusty - she sings on the beat(trills really) what's there and Dusty "dustifies", as Neil Tennant put it.
Has anyone got Dusty singing a medley of the Seekers' hits? She darts in and out of the beat - a completely different interpretation. |

Yes, I love dusty's medley! It's really different to the seekers, there's more soul.

It's a lovely song and very nostalgic.
Thankyou!
