Editors of Vanity Fair magazine have ranked the 50 greatest soundtracks ever…with Prince’s “Purple Rain” topping the list, even though it’s described as “perhaps the best badly acted film ever.” #2 was The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” followed by Jimmy Cliff’s “The Harder They Come” at #3… “Pulp Fiction” at 4…Simon & Garfunkle’s “The Graduate” at 5…Curtis Mayfield’s “Superfly” at #6… “Trainspotting” at 7… “Saturday Night Fever” is 8th… “American Graffiti” at 9 and “The Big Chill” 10.
The full list will be revealed next month in a one-time Conde Nast magazine, Movies Rock, for subscribers of its 14 titles.
