There is a new 2 cd set recently released called "Divas", what an over-worked name that is. Included on this cd are such artists as Pink & Leona Lewis who has made ONE cd!!!! How earth does this make her a Diva?
The are several female singers I can think of who should be included on this and there's no prizes for guessing who should be top of the list!

DIVA : a highly distinguished female singer ; prima donna; a goddess [from DIVUS divine]
Leona is contemporary and will help shift copies . Commercialism, in this instance, is trying to ensure the other distinguished females get heard again, the 'new kid' drawing her audience towards them. Leona's single grows on me, but I haven't bought it.
Annie Lennox, of course, had an album called 'Diva', deservedly .
Dusty should have been a Dame Commander of the Order Of The British Empire, not simply an 'Officer' .
