Tracks of my years..this week its Gerry Marsden and he played YDHTSYLM. He was full of praise for Dusty saying she had a lovely voice and was a lovely person. They did there first tour of Australia together with Gene Pitney and Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. He said he became good friends with her and he misses her and her voice saying again how lovely she was.

My coworker told me today that, on the morning I was leaving on my flight to the UK, SOAPM played on the radio in the van. She said that is one of her favorite songs of all time. (Glad I bought her a Dusty CD back.)

I got two for the price of one this afternoon!
Smooth Radio played firstly The Springfields 'Island of Dreams' and then 'I Only Want To Be With You' straight after! Bonus!
D'ya know, since joining the DSN, I've been flooded with Dusty tunes everywhere I go- she won't leave me alone!
Keep 'em coming!

Nice one Sara! Still, I guess he can't help it if the guy doesn't know good music when he hears it - although there are some good tunes from the latter decades, Dusty, the 60s and motown live on forever!.
You turn that volume knob up today again girl!

The new station, The TRUE Oldies 105.9 FM station here in DC/Maryland/Virgina, USA has not played too much Dusty. Unfortunately, I have only heard Dusty sing one song "Son of a Preacher Man" I turned it up as I was at home. I cranked it for my dogs and kitty... they are used to Dusty now... I recently purchased "Dusty in Memphis". It has many bonus tracks on it.
I need to call this new radio station and ask 'em to play more Dusty... will report back with info...

Whoopie!!! The London version of Smooth Radio (102.2FM) has just been playing 'Son Of A Preacher Man' . DJ Mike Allen then went on to comment that she 'was undeniably special'- ditto that!
Btw, I've only recently converted to Smooth Radio, as they play some fantastic songs right through the day- you name it, they play it! From soul and motown in the 60s, right through to today. It's awesome!

Oh me, oh my! Not long after tuning into the West Midlands version of Smooth Radio, DJ Carlos played 'Goin' Back' I had to txt in and let him know I was a Dusty fan, and that as a result of playing Goin' Back I have a litter of tissues to clear up! Simply beautiful song.

About the DIM CD (w/ bonus tracks). Initially, I had to warm up to the bonus tracks.. which is okay... I am a fairly new Dusty fan. I love the CD though. It is special. I have read that it is one of the top 100 albusm recorded in all of rock & roll / pop history. Awesome.
I chimed in on a separate thread - I think it was DIM vs. ECUD. The musical arrangements on DIM are rich and Dusty's voice is richer. Very Special indeed...

Tuesday night - Radcliffe and MacConie, BBC Radio 2, about 8pm, Dusty's version of 'Piece of My Heart', and contrasting it with Arthea's sister's version and Janis Joplin's. A very interesting moment while 'doing the ironing' from the room next door, and recognising her voice - I'd never heard this recording before but knew of it.
