Hey the first record I bought was a 78, at that time you could buy singles in both 78's which were being withdrawn or 45. Ruby Murray & Connie Francis were some of our first records.

I do remember our first album was the soundtrack to South Pacific.

My first 45 was a Xmas gift from my aunt & uncle and it was When by The Kalin Twins and it still plays as good as ever.

My first single was "At The Hop" by Danny and the Juniors (late 50's era). I had a playmate that had older sisters and we use to watch the early American Bandstand shows from Phildadelphia together.

Ballroom Blitz - the Sweet 1973- i was 10 and yes i still have it!!!

I think I bought a Cozy Powell (of Deep Purple) Drum solo single which made the charts from circa 1974 (Can't remember what it was called but it include the riff from "3rd Stone From The Sun" instrumental by Hendrix on Are You Experienced.

I tended to buy albums not singles.
