Again, I do so appreciate all your kind wishes and thoughts - I've had so many calls and messages about the Boy, its touched me greatly, it honestly has.

Its a big, big struggle. We have seen odd glimmers of hope and he is doing reasonably well with his tube feeding and meds although he hates being messed around with every hour or so . I would think that the meds are having some impact because with careful management as well he has managed to keep all his food down the last few days and his weight has been maintained over I think the last 4/5 days (he had been losing a kilo every few days!).

HOWEVER, the big problem that remains is that he will NOT take anything by mouth and quite frankly it isn't feasible to feed by tube forever.........so that is the next positive sign I'm looking for, even if its one or two little nibbles.

I hope you don't think I've abandoned the forum, cos I ain't, I do come on a few times a day but its only when I have somebody else here to help with the feeds that I can sit down to post properly. Indeed, I am so far behind with everything else including contact with family and friends but I have to focus on this Lad of mine for however long it takes.

I'll keep you updated.......Max sends his woofs..actually I do have a couple of rather touching photos of Max and 'Daddy' having a snooze together on the couch.....I'll see if I can upload them. Just heard a scramble in the next room as its time for the 10 o'clock feed - Max is NOT co-operating by the sounds of it and has dropped anchors refusing to budge! Another pair of hands required, so off I go.

Take care all .

With love from Janie and Max (woof woof)

Looks like the TLC is having some positive results.

I really hope that Max gets back to his old self again, soon.

Another very bad turn this evening - just come back from the Animal Hospital in Caterham. They've kept him in overnight so we'll have to see what tomorrow brings ........

Thank you all for your care and concern - I've told him .

So am I. I hope he rallies even though he must be so fed up. He's so well loved and cherished. Seeing Max as a puppy and then a vibrant adult is a heart breaker knowing he's so ill.

all my best wishes go to you Janie and to Max,

Memphis

He's being kept in Animal Hospital for a few days. As part of the trauma the other night he developed a mild bloat which was terrifying to see. Bloat in itself can be fatal. Poor old Maxy Waxy's innards are clearly in such a pickle.

Much as I want him home (and I know thats where he would want to be) its best he stays where he is under close observation of the doggy medics. He will hate being away from us but we have no option.

Thanks for the link Dave btw - we have to be very careful about what he is fed because of his condition.....his diet is a major concern for the specialist and one thing she is working on again over the next few days.
